Final: Iowa 28, Nebraska 20
The Hawkeyes finish the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record and are just one win away from the college football playoff. C.J. Beathard goes just 9-for-16 passing for 97 yards but Jordan Canzeri rushes 17 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Tommy Armstrong Jr. throws for 296 yards for Nebraska but was intercepted four times including one returned for a touchdown. Imani Cross scores two touchdowns and rushes for 55 yards to lead the Cornhuskers, who finish at 5-7 and likely miss out on a bowl game.
4th Quarter- Iowa 28, Nebraska 20: Drew Brown makes a 42-yard field goal and it is an one-possession game with 1:17 left in the game.
4th Quarter- 2:00 left: Nebraska ball but 120 seconds to go before Iowa is 12-0.
4th Quarter- 4:14 left: Armstrong’s fourth interception of the day should pretty much seal this up for the Iowa.
4th Quarter- 4:27 left: Iowa punts and Nebraska has the ball at midfield needing two scores late.
4th Quarter- 6:37 left: Nebraska goes on 4th-and-1 and the Iowa defense holds and the Hawkeyes get the ball back with an 11-point lead. Cornhuskers may regret not trying a field goal to make it an one-possession game.
4th Quarter- 9:16 left: Iowa challenging a first down by Nebraska that may mean the difference between the Cornhuskers continuing a drive or Iowa getting possession back and running back down the clock. The call stands on the field.
4th Quarter- 11:24 left: Cornhuskers with the ball at the Iowa 48 down by 11 as darkness falls over Lincoln.
End of 3rd Quarter: Nebraska is on the drive trying to pull closer with 15 minutes to go. Armstrong has the three interceptions but has thrown for 203 yards for Nebraska and has 40 yards rushing. Canzeri has 126 yards now rushing on 11 carries and the two touchdowns. Iowa has a 28-17 lead looking for their 12-0 regular season.
3rd Quarter- 5:06 left: Armstrong gets intercepted for the third time for the afternoon as he tries to go deep and the Hawkeyes have a chance to do some damage while they have the wind.
3rd Quarter- Iowa 28, Nebraska 17: Canzeri takes it to the house yet again, this time it is a 67-yard touchdown run on the first play of Iowa’s next possession. That was very quick. Canzeri has 129 yards rushing now for the day.
3rd Quarter- Iowa 21, Nebraska 17: Nebraska responds with a four-yard touchdown run by Imani Cross and it is back to being a one-possession game with 7:00 to play in the quarter.
3rd Quarter- 10:00 left: The Cornhuskers are in Iowa territory and need to score to respond.
3rd Quarter- Iowa 21, Nebraska 10: Jordan Canzeri takes it in from 29 yards out on the ground and the Hawkeyes take a two-possession lead with 12:17 to go in the quarter.
Halftime: Iowa 14, Nebraska 10
The Hawkeyes are just 30 minutes away from a perfect regular season. C.J. Beathard is 5-for-11 passing for 60 yards and a touchdown for Iowa. Nebraska’s Tommy Armstrong Jr. is 9-for-17 for 102 yards. Cethan Carter has three catches for 72 yards for the Hawkeyes. Nebraska has 168 total yards to Iowa’s 112.
2nd Quarter- Iowa 14, Nebraska 10: Drew Brown makes a 35-yard field goal to pull the Cornhuskers closer.
2nd Quarter- 3:21 left: Nebraska goes for it on fourth down and comes up short late in the half giving the Hawkeyes a chance to bust this game open.
2nd Quarter- Iowa 14, Nebraska 7: The Hawkeyes defense scores on their own as Parker Heese picks off Armstrong and goes four yards for a touchdown to give Iowa the lead.
2nd Quarter- 7:22 left: Midway through the second quarter with Nebraska having the football. Beathard is 5-for-8 for 60 yards for Iowa while Armstrong is just 2-for-6 for 27 yards for the Cornhuskers.
2nd Quarter- Iowa 7, Nebraska 7: Imani Cross runs it in from four yards out and the game is tied up with 10:18 left in the first half.
2nd Quarter- 11:33 left: Iowa makes a stop but Desmond King fumbles on the punt return and Nebraska has great field position deep in Hawkeyes territory.
2nd Quarter- Iowa 7, Nebraska 0: The Hawkeyes score first on a ten-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Beathard to George Kittle with 13:50 left in the first half.
End of 1st Quarter: A scoreless tie through 15 minutes. Neither team is getting much offense going.
1st Quarter- 5:24 left: Iowa can’t get anything really going yet again. Nebraska playing solid defense so far.
1st Quarter- 6:53 left: After a bad Iowa punt, the Hawkeyes get it right back as Tommy Armstrong, Jr. is intercepted.
1st Quarter- 8:53 left: Nothing for Nebraska either on their first possession. This could turn into a low-scoring battle.
1st Quarter- 12:23 left: Iowa can’t do much on their first possession but pins the Cornhuskers deep in their own territory.

It is a cold but perfect day for football as the Iowa Hawkeyes look to go undefeated in the regular season as they play the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln. Iowa has already clinched a spot in next week’s Big Ten Conference title game but needs a win in this one to remain in the case for the college football playoff.
