Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State: Game Recap, Stats & Highlights

The Oklahoma State Cowboys went into Lubbock to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders and had to think that they would be challenged. The 12th-ranked Cowboys were more than challenged, they had to rally during a shootout worthy of the Wild Wild West as Oklahoma State erased a 24-7 deficit during a 70-53 win in Big 12 action to remain undefeated at 8-0 for the season and 5-0 in the conference while Texas Tech fell to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
The Red Raiders scored the first 17 points of the game on two Pat Mahomes touchdown passes and looked like they were in good shape with a 17-point lead midway through the second quarter. Oklahoma State however would get a touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph to Brandon Sheperd with 3:37 left in the first half to pull within 31-28. Mahomes scored before the first half ended and it was 38-28 at the intermission.
The second half was just as crazy as the two teams traded the lead back and forth in a game that featured nearly 1,300 yards of total offense. Rudolph finished 21-for-35 passing for 285 yards and two touchdowns. James Washington caught just four passes but went off for 200 yards and two touchdowns from backup quarterback J.W. Walsh. Walsh would lead the team in rushing as well with eight carries for 80 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes went 38-for-55 passing for 480 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions with Jakeem Grant catching 13 of those passes for 178 yards and a touchdown.
Oklahoma State will go into a battle of undefeated teams next week when they host TCU. Texas Tech will hit the road to face West Virginia.
