You all might know him as the DJ Khaled, the introductory voice of the infamous song “All I Do Is Win” and the signature voice of Snapchat. Let me be the first to say that the lyrics “got money on my mind, I can never get enough” speak very true to his current lifestyle. Over the past few years, Khaled has gone from small town DJ to multi-millionaire working with the major players of the music industry.
DJ Khaled’s Net Worth as of 2019: $18 million
Wondering how this DJ climbed his way to the top? Here’s a breakdown of his success over the years…
1993 – 2003
Before DJ Khaled was an actual DJ, he was an aspiring artist born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Because his parents were musicians, he had always been interested in pursuing music as a future career.
One of his first jobs was working in a New Orleans record store, where Khaled first met Birdman, Lil Wayne and Mavado in ’93. He then began to DJ soundclashes of dancehall mixed with hip hop, eventually landing various gigs within the area. From there, his career took flight as he made his first big radio debut cohosting on The Luke Show.
In 2003, he began hosting his own radio show which still airs weeknights on WEDR. His connections within the music industry, however, were the roots of his growing success.
2004 – 2008
In 2006, Khaled came out with his first album entitled Listennn… the Album through Koch Records, hitting it as #12 on the Billboard 200 chart. It sold 44,000 copies in the first week. Just a year later, his second album, We the Best, was released. The album featured Khaled as well as T-Pain, Akon, T.I, Rick Ross, Birdman, Lil Wayne, Trick Daddy and Plies and was a huge stepping stone in Khaled’s rise to fame. That same year, he won two Ozone Awards.
In 2008, he released his third album entitled We Global, featuring songs like “Out Here Grindin” and “Go Hard” with Kanye and T-Pain. His hit single, “I’m So Hood”, also went platinum that year. Khaled won Best DJ of the Year from the BET Hip Hop Awards and the Ozone Awards.
Victory, his fourth album, was released on March 2, 2010. One very popular track on this album that we all know and love is “All I Do Is Win”, featuring Ludacris, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and T-Pain.
2008 – 2014
Khaled released the albums We The Best Forever in 2010 and Kiss The Ring In 2012. These two albums featured even more musical guests, including Fat Joe, Christ Brown, Cee Lo Green, Kayne West, Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Akon Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and more. We The Best Forever sold 53,000 copies in the first week, and Kiss The Ring with 63,000 copies.
In 2013, he released Suffering From Success, his seventh album. He also allegedly proposed to Nicki Minaj, which was later thought to be a publicity stunt for their new single, “I Wanna Be with You”.
On October 23, 2015, he dropped his new album, I Changed a Lot. Like always, he includes tons of acclaimed musical rap and hip hop artists. Between all of Khaled’s albums, he has made a grand total of a little over 4 million dollars alone. Factor in his radio personality, and he’s walking away as a multi-millionaire. Not bad, for an aspiring artist from NOLA. While DJ Khaled continues to create these studio albums, we’ll be looking forward to what will come next.
2016 – 2017
Khaled stayed true to his winning nature in 2016, releasing new singles including the latest “I Got the Keys” which features big names Jay Z and Future. How did Jay Z and Khaled connect? Khaled was inked to Roc Nation, giving them both a huge payday with the management contract. Not only did Khaled develop even more musical endeavors, he also took on the world endorsements and sponsorships.
Khaled signed a deal with Beats, Apple Music and even is paid to use products or approve them via his Snapchat story. It seems that with the increasing views and singles comes an increasing net worth and if DJ Khaled keeps it up, he’ll be a major key in the world of celebrity net worths.
On July 29, 2016, Khaled released his ninth studio album Major Key. He’ll follow that album up with Grateful in 2017, which has been promoted by the singles “Shining” and “I’m the One.”
DJ Khaled is the newest spokesperson for the Weight Watchers, one of the most durable weight loss brands on the market.
After saving his pal Ayo Juan in November 2018, DJ Khaled revealed that Championship’s rapper Meek Mill will be making an appearance in his upcoming album “Father of Asahd”.
