Instagram’s New Feature Allows Landscape and Portrait Modes

Instagram New Update

Instagram‘s new feature now allows users to upload full size landscape and portrait photos to the social media app. That’s right, both videos and photos no longer to be square. Read the announcement from Instagram’s blog here:

Today, we’re excited to announce that — in addition to square posts — you can now share photos and videos in both portrait and landscape orientation on Instagram. Square format has been and always will be part of who we are. That said, the visual story you’re trying to tell should always come first, and we want to make it simple and fun for you to share moments just the way you want to.

Previously you were able to use third-party apps like Square Sized and Squaready to resize the photos, but now people will be able to do that natively. Check out the new feature in the photo below.

New Instagram Features

As you’ll see in the left image, users will notice this new feature once they enter the gallery. You’ll see the new “format” button located in the top left above the gallery.

We were hoping to find you some hotties who’ve already discovered this new feature but for now you’ll just have to believe us.
