Today is Bastille Day, and regardless of whether or not it directly affects you (or if you even know what it stands for), you should be celebrating. Hello – anything that calls for a few beverages is reason enough to acknowledge its existence.
Also known as the French National Day (kind of like our 4th of July), the holiday marks the 1789 storming of Bastille. The medieval prison represented royal authority in Paris, and its eventual takedown was a major turning point in the French revolution.
