While all the other talk shows took the week off, Conan O’Brien went back to work just in time to host entire shows from the San Diego Comic Con. He even worked on Friday–which gave him a chance to dedicate lots of his show to the Game of Thrones panel at the big event.
Conan also did a very Con-specific opening monologue for his San Diego fans. That includes the following video in which Conan reveals exactly why we’ll be waiting a long time for the next Game of Thrones book. Take a look for yourself–and, yeah, that must be the real George R.R. Martin. Conan wouldn’t risk pissing off the SDCC crowd by putting a beard on Andy Richter, right?
