After last week’s shooting in Charleston, many people have said that the time has come to take the Confederate flag down in South Carolina. On Monday, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton took the time out to visit families that were affected by the shooting as Panthers owner Jerry Richardson said that the team does not support any “divisive symbols” like the Confederate flag. Here is a look at Newton’s visit.

The Panthers hold training camp in South Carolina but have said that they won’t move that out even if the flag stays. That would definitely get the attention of the people in the state house if that money would be leaving the state. Even South Carolina governor Nikki Haley has asked for the flag to be taken down. It is hard to understand why it hasn’t yet.
It is positive to see people like Newton going out of their way to help out the families of the victims. He didn’t have to do that but wanted to be a positive force in the community. Richardson is making his stand as well after donating $100,000 to the families and church combined. Things like this won’t stand for either one of them and they shouldn’t any longer.
