I realize that some might not be totally into craft beer and the flavor profiles are far too harsh for the beer novice, regardless what I or the craft beer industry says. However, this week I have found a brew that currently is flying off the shelves and one that is perfect for both male and female beer drinkers. This weekend Small Town Brewery’s Not Your Father’s Root Beer is What’s on Tap!
If you like root beer than this brew is the beer for you. It looks, smells, and taste like root beer the only difference is the 5.9% ABV. Before trying this brew I was skeptical that is might be the type of beer that has some of the root beer flavor but it also has too much of the alcohol flavor. However, the 5.9% is extremely well hidden and it does not take anything away from the root beer-ness of the beverage. From the first sip to the last this brew is the perfect adult beverage. My one suggestion is to not let the beer sit because the subsequent sips might have a stark split between the sweetness from the flavors and the alcohol on your palate.
This might be the perfect summertime, I want to be a kid again, brew; that anyone can enjoy. This weekend, after a trip to the beach and a great cookout I am pour Not Your Father’s Root Beer over vanilla ice cream for an adult root beer float. Summertime perfection!
