There are some difficult decisions ahead for the Dallas Cowboys, with the team pondering what to do with Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray during the offseason. Bryant spoke about the situation on Wednesday–and said that while he would like to stay with Dallas, he needs to be shown respect by the team. That would involve financial respect, of course. Bryant wants to be paid like a top-three receiver which he definitely is. That would mean a contract of more than $12 million per season and likely more than $20 million of the entire deal being guaranteed. Bryant made $11.8 million during his first five seasons in the league. If he doesn’t get the right offer, it sounds like he will take his talents elsewhere.
There would be plenty of teams that would be interested in Bryant even with all the baggage he brings to the table. It is now up to Dallas to decide whether or not they want to spend a large amount of money on Bryant or give some of the big payday to Murray, who will also be a free agent after this season. There are some tense times ahead for the Cowboys and Bryant once this season concludes.
