Keene State’s annual PumpkinFest has garnered a pretty rowdy reputation over the past 24 years (it was on our list of “Legendary Parties From 2013-2014”) but I think it’s safe to say that this year’s rager went wayyyyy beyond what authorities were ready for.
Straight up bottle throwing fights on one street, flipped cars and fires on another, students using barricades against policemen’s paintballs on another. It was absurd.
At the end of the day, 20 people (including one visitor in the photo gallery below) were sent to the hospital and local media reports there were “dozens” of arrests.
One of the most important takeaways (besides the fact that Pumpkinfest is never, ever happening again) is that most of the violence and destruction was actually caused by shitheads from surrounding schools and campuses.
BUT IT’S OK BECAUSE THEY STOPPED RIOTING TO SING THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER.
