Living Meme Ian McKellen Tells School Kids They Shall Not Pass [VIDEO]

We expect this kind of thing from Sir Patrick Stewart, but it’s pretty baffling to see Sir Ian McKellen taking the time to lean out a window and use a bunch of kids as straight men for one of the oldest gags to come out of the Lord of the Ring series. And yet, Yes, This Happened–to coin a phrase–when Sir Ian visited the Chew Valley School in South West England earlier today.
Anyway, check it out as Ian asks a question, and (thankfully) the kids play along for a great moment in continuing Gandalf history. We sure don’t have a schoolyard memory to match this one…
