Top 5 Vodkas You’ve Probably Never Heard Of Before

We all have loyalty to what type of vodka we like to drink, right? But at the same time, some of us do not care. We usually drink what ever is popular. Too many consumers don’t even know that vodkas come in all different types, flavors, and distillations–including grapes, potatoes and wheat. This could be the cause of your next day hangover and monster headache. Some vodka’s can hit the body different than others so it’s crucial that you know if your body can take certain foods. Most of us go with Grey Goose, Tito’s, Belvedere, Absolute, Smirnoff, Ketel One, and Ciroc as our vodka of choice. But if you knew the amount of vodka that exist you would be amazed. According to Forbes.com, in total, Americans drank 51 million cases of vodka in America in 2007, according to Noah Rothbaum, author of the book The Business of Spirits. “Vodka is head and shoulders the No. 1 category in the U.S.,” he says. “Americans’ thirst for vodka is crazy.” Vodka makes up roughly one-third of Americans’ spirits consumption (says Forbes.com). That’s pretty insane.
Although the vodka companies I stated earlier are great, its time to experience something different–and in many cases, better. Below I’ve compiled a list of vodka drinks that are both awesome and perfect, straight or mixed…

EFFEN Vodka

EFFEN is one of my favorite vodkas of all time, and is slowly becoming a staple in the big city lifestyle. The brand even made cameos on Entourage, and always participates in NY Fashion Week. EFFEN is currently available in Original, Raspberry, Black Cherry, Salted Caramel, and Cucumber. Like most vodkas, it’s 40% alcohol–but unlike most, EFFEN is great straight up, and their flavored options are great as well.

Bak’s Bison Grass Vodka

Don’t let the name fool you. This vodka is amazing. This triple-distilled potato vodka is great with apple juice or in a martini. Bison Grass can be found in California, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Virginia & Washington D.C. As far as I’m aware, BGV is only available in one flavor, but is also great served straight up with ice or chilled.

Vesica Vodka
