This Might Be Scotland's Best (Or Worst) Rapper [VIDEO]

Is there an episode of The Simpsons where Groundskeeper Willie does some rapping? We’re asking because we don’t really know about Scottish rappers, and we’d like somebody to compare to Paulie Gup. We know about the UK rap scene, of course. We were down with The Streets–if you remember those guys–but Scotland is kind of a new flava for us. Like, do most Scottish rappers start off by going “Derp” a lot? We’re pretty sure that Paul Gup is saying “Derp” at the start of this ode to independence…

And is he rapping about Jon Bon Jovi? We think he said “Jon Bon Jovi,” but we’re not sure–just like we’re not sure if Scottish rappers like to dress up like the baddest thug working the drinks cart at a nice country club.
Anyway, we’re pretty baffled by all of this, but we will not judge. Mainly because we can’t understand a damn thing that Paulie Gup is laying down. And as you can hear below, going freestyle without backing tracks doesn’t help. This is fascinating stuff, though. Mike Myers can’t believe he didn’t think of it first….
