There are people who play the lottery every day with varying degrees of success. For one NFL fan in Delaware though, his lottery play almost turned into a huge payday. The bettor played a 15-team $5 parlay card in the Delaware Sports Lottery and picked 14 straight winners–but needed the Indianapolis Colts to beat the Philadelphia Eagles by more than a field goal. It looked good at the half with the Colts winning 17-6 but Indianapolis couldn’t hold on and lost the game. A Colts win would have turned the $5 bet into $100,000. According to the Delaware Lottery, no one has ever hit all 15 games since 2011. One can only imagine how this person felt on Monday night watching the Colts self-destruct.
The Delaware Sports Lottery is the largest legal sports betting operation outside of Nevada. There are going to be many fans that flock to Delaware now wanting a piece of the action in trying to turn their $5 into $100,000. This fan may never play the lottery again after this one–but probably will always hate the Eagles for their comeback.
