USC Running Back Quits, Accuses Coach Steve Sarkisian of Racism

The University of Southern California’s Trojans lost one of their running backs over a disagreement between Anthony Brown and head coach Steve Sarkisian in which Brown accused of Sarkisian of being a racist.
According to TMZ Sports, the redshirt senior player announced on his Instagram account that he quit the team earlier today following an argument with the coach. Brown burned whatever bridge had left with the coach by writing that he “treated me like a slave in his office” and adding “can’t play for a racist MAN!!!!! #Fighton.” He even posted a huge image on his account that read “couldn’t play for a racist man!!!”
Brown later told TMZ Sports that the two got into an argument in which Brown claimed he was berated by the coach. He characterized Sarkisian as being “disrespectful” and crude during their discussion. He said, “He called me a coward, all types of f#&$ words” and he did a harsh “stereotype [of] my mom and dad, like he belittle (sic) me to another level.”
Brown claims he didn’t try to fire back against Sarkisian’s alleged, harsh words. “I just responded Yes Sir and No Sir!” he said.
Right now, it’s all just a matter of “he said, he said” so it’s hard to take a side on this story especially since only one other player, defensive tackle Antwaun Woods, came forward to defend coach Sarkisian. It won’t have much of an impact on the team since Brown was redshirted at the time of the fight. We’re sure the truth will come out when both sides have had a chance to cool down although considering how heated things got, that might take awhile.
