Some changes are coming to TV’s biggest myth busting show. Grant Imahara, Kari Byron and Tory Belleci, also known as the “M7 Build Team,” are leaving the show.
According to Nerdist.com, the Discovery Channel made the shocking announcement last night that the stars of the show would not be part of the next season as producers plan to retool to the series and bring it back to its roots. The original stars of the show, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, appeared in a tribute video to the M7 team to make the sad announcement that Imahara, Byron and Belleci would not be part of the new season. The three stars also confirmed the news on their Twitter accounts. Byron wrote, “It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world.” Imahara also thanked the show “for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way. Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure!”
The crew joined the series during the second season just after it became a certified phenomenon. Imahara was invited to join the show by Hyneman who worked together as engineers on several movies including the Star Wars prequels and The Matrix trilogy along with Belleci who Imahara also recommended as a member of the myth busting team. Bryon’s inclusion on the show has an interesting twist. She used to just show up at Hyneman’s M5 Industries special effects workshop in the hopes of getting a job. One day, they needed a female model to make a mold of a pair of buttocks for a project and Bryon was more than willing to step in front of the cameras. She’s been a part of the show and one of its most popular stars ever since then…
So no offense to the other two but we’re going to miss Bryon just a little bit more.
