Cop Admits To Lying About 911 Calls To Make Arrests
Durham, North Carolina police chief Jose Lopez has warned officers to stop lying about fake 911 calls in order to enter homes and arrest people. According to our friends over at Newser, Durham officer AB Beck admitted during a court hearing that he had told a woman that someone called 911 from her house before hurrying off the phone. When she let him in, he found a grinder and two blunts and then arrested her. Beck said that the 911-call tactic was standard procedure, but the judge dismissed the case and police chief Lopez said this tactic needs to stop.
