"Community" Gets a Sixth Season on Yahoo

Rumors that Community would be picked up by an online entity were confirmed when Yahoo surprised everyone and announced they will deliver a sixth season of the cult TV comedy.
The comedy that lasted for five seasons on NBC found a new home on Yahoo Screen, the video wing of the online media company. Yahoo announced that a sixth season of the show will be ready to broadcast on their site some time this fall. Dan Harmon, the outspoken creator of the show, released a statement that he’s “pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo” and vowed to “dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, BangBus!”
Community really has become “the little TV show that could.” We don’t mean the struggles with NBC just to keep it on the air because it couldn’t achieve the kind of global, hardcore audience that networks expect every show to make right out of the starting gate. Harmon also had to deal with all kinds of unbelievable tension with professional a-hole Chevy Chase who left a really nasty message on his voicemail and eventually led to his departure from the show. He had to work around Donald Glover’s amicable decision to leave the show who Harmon said he would try to convince to return if he could strike a deal for a sixth season. Just like the return of Arrested Development on Netflix, Harmon’s show has more freedom to screw up and try new things with an Internet audience instead of living under the pressurized thumb of a dying network. We can’t wait to see what he’s been planning for his sixth season.
