Phil Jackson Snubs Knicks Offer, Still Smartest Mind In Basketball

According to Stephen A Smith, New York Knicks general manager Steve Mills met about two weeks ago with Phil Jackson about the possibility of Jackson becoming the team’s next coach. Understandably, the Zen Master told the Knicks that he was not interested in the position at this time.

Next to the Lakers skipping over Phil Jackson for the Lakers head coaching gig a few years ago, this latest Knicks offer has got to be one of the most insulting things Phil’s gone through in his life. The Knicks are “a dumpster fire.”

Jackson is widely known as one of the best basketball coaches of all time. He was the head coach of the Chicago Bulls 1989 until 1998, during which Chicago won six NBA titles. He then went onto the Los Angeles Lakers where he helped bring them five NBA titles from 2000 until 2010. So yeah, any team in the NBA would beg to have Jackson as the head coach.  To put it kindly, this past season has not been very good for “The Knicks are a dumpster fire.”

Although they recently broke a seven-game losing streak with a win over Minnesota on Wednesday, they remain a blight on the good city of New York. They are 18 games under .500 and 5½ games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Surely, Spike Lee is going to be quite upset about the snub from Jackson. And you do not want to get Spike Lee upset.
