Marty McFly’s Power Shoe Laces Are Coming (Back) To Our Future

Marty McFly Back To the Future shoe laces

According to Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, the self-tying (amazingly awesome) power laces from Back To The Future II are actually going to be a reality in 2015. Which means that at least one of your childhood dreams is finally coming true, although you’ll still have to hold out on dating a Sports Illustrated model.

The designer, in fact, is quoted as saying, “”Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!” By which he means this, folks…

BTTF 2 power laces

In 2011, Nike did produce about 1,500 Nike Air Mags that were auctioned off on eBay with proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The power laces were not featured on those shoes just yet. Although, we’re insanely jealous of anyone who was actually able to cop a pair of these rare gems…

It may be true that we’re getting the shoelaces in the next year but sadly Marty, himself, will not be arriving anytime soon. Make sure to keep checking what’s probably one of the most important sites ever for putting an end to internet rumors. That would be this site here, which answers the question we’ve been asking ourselves for years, “Is today the day Marty McFly arrives when he travels to the future?”

The answer will be “no” for a good long while. Keep that in mind, please. If 2014 is like last year, we’re in for 12 months of people insisting that we’re living in Marty McFly’s world already. But it still won’t look like this…
