Add “Olympic Hockey Cheerleaders” to the “Win” column for Putin and the host city because these ladies are probably the nicest surprise we’ve seen come from the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
The cheerleaders debuted a few days ago (for women’s hockey no less) and are officially recognized as working the events–it’s not like fans have been able sneak pompoms into the arena and dance in the aisles. According to Business Insider, this isn’t the first time that cheerleaders have been in the Olympics. The 2006 Turin Winter Olympics also had cheerleaders. Europe FTW.
