Christopher Nolan’s take on the Batman saga did something that no one thought could be done with a comic book:...
The Avengers just blasted into theaters last night. In case you’re Amish, or live on a desert island, the movie...
Excited about The Avengers? Yeah, so are we--but think about the superheroes your father was stuck with as a young geek. Nobody was getting rich off the funny books back in ol' Dad's day. He was watching some of the lamest costumes and special effects to ever grace a living room television. Of course, that's why it's worth looking back at some of the superheroes that never got ratings, never got respect--and never got a shot at the big screen.

Batman is one of the most iconic comic book heroes in history and his battles with The Joker have been things of legend. Now, what if Batman and the Joker were an old lesbian couple instead of arch-nemeses? There would be a lot more dildos and batsuits with nipples, that's for d*mn sure. The Joker would trade in his purple suit for a purple suit made of flannel and the batcave would reek of fish even though their aren't any fish to be found in the batcave. Starting today in New York City, Comic Con is making its' way to the Javits Center until October 16th. From either your own personal knowledge or our previous posts about Comic Con, you know that there's gonna be nerd-porn galore: comics, video games, movies, and hot girls dressed as fictional characters they wouldn't be caught dead in unless they were paid. Don't get me wrong: hot girl geeks exist, they're out there. Just check out our gallery of girls rocking Superhero undies after the jump!
With Comic-Con in full swing and Captain America The First Avenger out in theaters, it's safe to say we're not the only ones in skin-tight outfits air-punching and kicking our way through invisible villains. Just about every kid had those extra special briefs or undies with the Spidey, Superman, or Batman print. Weird how they (along with "boy shorts") look so damn hot on a fully developed woman. So, take a walk down memory lane with our photo gallery of grown up gals gettin' ready for bedtime in their superhero undies after the jump.
With the new Green Lantern movie, there's a fresh wave of hype for the emerald ring-themed hero. And while the action and lore of the Green Lantern comics are fun to read, you can't help but notice some major problems with the Green Lantern corps. So before jumping on the Green Lantern bandwagon, here's just a few reasons why being in the Green Lantern Corps would blow. Check them out after the jump!
With Thor coming out this Friday (5/6), we thought we'd take a look at how superhero movies are doing as a genre. What once was relegated to big time blockbuster affairs has spread into other genres as well - take "Super", "Paper Man" and "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" for example. While the genre's resurgence has caused a near saturation level at the box office, one can't argue with the bottom line. Numbers never lie, so we're sharing an infographic detailing the genre in full, courtesy of CinemaBlend. Check it out after the jump!

Comic book fans everywhere are a bit wary, if not disgusted, with the film Super - being that it shares far too many similarities with the comic mini-series Kick-Ass and its film adaptation of the same name. Blatant plagiarism aside, this low-budget, indie film showcases an all-star cast including The Office's Rainn Wilson, the always lovely Liv Tyler and, yes, even Kevin "Hollow Man" Bacon (who plays a drug dealer named "Jock" in the film). But they're not the ones causing a buzz all over the internet - the blog Egotastic! recently scored a fantastic picture of actress Ellen Page in her guise as the superheroine "Boltie." If there's one thing that really pisses off comic book geeks it's when people who've never picked up a comic in their life predicate their knowledge on superheroes and villains solely on what they saw in the movies or television. Many times, people assume that storylines and characters have stayed the course since their inception. Check out our list of 10 superhero myths debunked after the jump!
Recently resurrected from the grave in the comics, Bruce Wayne is also making his triumphant return to video games this October in Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to 2009’s critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum. Based on trailers and information released so far, this title is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2011 and could be the game of the year. See our full preview along screengrabs and the trailer after the jump!
Everyone wants to be a superhero. The powers, the gadgets, the crazy chicks with White Knight complexes- what's not to love? 2K Studios released NBA 2K11 with Michael "Air" Jordan gracing the cover last Tuesday. In honor of His Airness' return to the (virtual) court, it's only fitting to daydream about other icons--fictional and real--I'd like to see be "like Mike" and make a return to popular culture via video games. After all, legends never die. Note: Bagger Vance not included.

Comic books have come a long way since their inception. But the following collection will make you wish you never even started reading them. It's when, for the best or worst of intentions, comic book writers committed themselves to a story so horrible, its effects would be felt for years to come.
With Comic Con kicking off today in San Diego, we could think of no better way to celebrate this momentous occasion in nerdom than by bringing you the pinnacle of the comic-fan fantasy: tons and tons of sexy, scantily clad cosplay girls. Now, if you're not familiar with the term 'cosplay', it basically means people (in this case, chicks) who dress up in costumes...
