When Is Lent 2017? Start/End Dates & Must-See Details

Lent is almost here, so all you good Christians better get ready.
For those of you that don’t know, Lent is a season of forty days (not counting Sundays) which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The forty days are meant to represent the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, resisting Satan’s temptation and preparing himself for his spiritual ministry.
Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for Easter. Those that follow the practice are expected to use the time for self-examination and reflection. Today, it is common for people to give something up such as meat or sweets during the Lent period.


When Does Lent Start and End?

Lent will begin on Wednesday, March 1 and it will end on Thursday, April 13.
