Look up. See that photo of Cersei dumping wine on that deserving poor Septa’s face? Yeah, Cersei represents the Game Of Thrones show runners, and we are the woman doused in vino. Confirming both my biggest fear and a couple doomsday prophecies, apparently there are only another 13 episodes of Game Of Thrones left. Writer and show runner David Benioff had this blasphemous garbage leak out of his mouth while doing an interview with Deadline:
It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now. We’re trying to tell one cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end. As Dan said, we’ve known the end for quite some time and we’re hurtling towards it.
As an blogger/editor who has aspirations of being a writer/screenwriter, I can respect the artistic integretiy here. Hell, I don’t even have a problem with there only being two seasons left. But only 13 episodes? That’s not only unfair, but unnecessary. DB must have gotten smug: he must have gotten how slowly the show moved when they were following George R.R. Neckbeard’s novels. Also, I wonder if HBO is going to be cool with this, as GoT is easily the most successful show they have/have ever had. It wouldn’t surprise me if the suits up the road at HBO ask the creators to squeeze out another three episode, making the final two seasons a nice, round 8 episodes each.
I started at COED almost a year ago, and very early in my boss told me I had to turn down the cursing. Well, sorry boss, but this one needs it.
Sh*t f*ck son of a a**licking turd holy hell j*zz faced sh*t sh*t douchebags this blows.
Ah, much better.
