Usually, when a blood-thirsty crowd gathers and someone ends up getting sucker-punched, it’s a mixed martial arts match, not a political rally. Well, in Tuscan, Arizona on Saturday, a protester attending a rally for presidential candidate Donald Trump was punched in the face while being escorted out. The man who threw the punch, 32-year-old Tony Pettway, has since been arrested and has been charged with assault.
Because this is the 21st century, the whole incident was caught on video and has been circulating around the internet and news outlets.

Of course, this is just one of several instances of violence that have broken out at Trump rallies nationwide. Even though he’s the common denominator here, Trump has said in a recent interview with The New York Times, “the violence is not caused by me. It’s caused by agitators.”
And, though he likes the “excitement” it adds to his events, he went on to claim that: “The rallies are the safest places a child could be.”
It seems like the internet has taken that as a challenge. For the past few days, the hashtag #SaferThanATrumpRally has been trending on Twitter.
