The Golden State Warriors are building a new arena which will open in 2018. However, in the last few days there has been a lot of attention paid to what the stadium design actually looks like–specifically, because of leaked designs from San Francisco real estate site SocketSite that make the new stadium look like a giant toilet bowl.
Yes, that can be problematic. There could probably be a lot of different names for the place that aren’t going to be pretty at all. Between the notion of College Bowls and the word “golden” in Golden State Warriors–well, it’s not difficult to be inspired. Fortunately, ESPN has stepped up with an official denial from the Golden State Warriors, with executives insisting that that SocketSite doesn’t have the final plans. That’s a relief. See, we used the word “relief,” and even that sounds like a toilet joke.
