Ricky Gervais Responds to Germany's Beating of Brazil Like… Ricky Gervais

It seemed everyone and the non-Brazilian mother took to Twitter and Facebook tonight to unload some wit and some trash on the host country after the extremely sad, moreso humiliating World Cup thrashing by Germany on their home soil. But fortunately for us, constant funny man / constant foot-eater Ricky Gervais found a extremely British way to lighten the tone of this  incredibly heartbreaking defeat on social media… or did he?  As news broke that German fans attending the match would require an escort to leave the venue safely, Gervais posted: “This won’t be the first time that thousands of Germans will have to lie low in Brazil for a while for their own safety.”  Ouch, is a pretty fair response.
