Some people are surprised that the new trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction is just two minutes of Mark Wahlberg and Optimus Prime having a cup of coffee while talking about the meaning of life. But we welcome this new twist on the Transformers franchise, and…okay, we’re just joking. The new Transformers: Age of Extinction actually features all kinds of amazing new footage with major mayhem. The bad guys have this one airship that just sucks up stuff like crazy, and then they can drop the debris on a city, and, dude, the airship sucks up a really big boat and drops it down on a city. Also, we get Dinobots, and giant humanoid robots that are a lot bigger than the Sentinels in the new X-Men movie, and Stanley Tucci filling in the required slot for a respected actor having some fun, plus lots of CGI action in broad daylight. Say what you will about director Michael Bay, but he doesn’t wimp out with all of his CGI action taking place during stormy nights. This is some major mayhem in mid-morning, folks. This’ll be Godzilla‘s weekend, but there’s nothing wrong with getting excited over this trailer…
