The 2019 college football season rolls on after another busy weekend, so it is now time for the updated rankings. Ahead of Week 6, the latest Amway Coaches Poll has been released and we have a new number one. After a scare from the UNC Tar Heels, the defending national champion Clemson Tigers have been leapfrogged by the Alabama Crimson Tide for the No. 1 spot in the rankings.
Rounding out the top five are the Georgia Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners, and Ohio State Buckeyes as the first-place votes saw their most diverse distribution of the season.
Alabama has just 29 first-place votes compared to Clemson’s 30 first-place votes, but when it was all said and done they were ranked higher on average by the panel. Georgia picked up one first-place vote, while the Ohio State picked up four first-place votes.
