The 2019 World Series of Poker is taking place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as the WSOP celebrates its 50th anniversary. As the Main Event kicks into full swing, fans were treated to an intense hand that had announcers labeling it a “bloodbath” immediately after the flop.
On Day 3, Joseph Beasy, Simon Welsch, and Joshua Tam faced off in the hand and it was immediately clear that the winner was set to significantly bolster their chip stack.
Beasy had a pair of 10s, Tam had a pair of 7s, and Welsch had an Ace-9. When the flop came, it was a 10-Ace-7, so Beasy and Tam had three-of-a-kind while Welsch had the top pair with a respectable kicker.
Then, the chaos continued.
The turn was a 4 of spades, and the river was a 4 of hearts. Both Beasy and Tam had full houses and set for an epic showdown, while Welsch avoided the final bets by folding. In the end, it was Beasy who scored the 723,000 chips which was the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

There are currently 354 players remaining in the field on Day 4 with Joshua Tam holding 1,140,000 chips in 199th place. Beasy sits in 81st place with 2,117,00 chips. The current chip leader is Dean Morrone, who has a whopping 4,980,000 chips. All participants began the tournament with 60,000. The winner of the Main Event will take home a whopping $10,000,000 prize — yes, $10 million — for outlasting the field of 8,569 players which is the second-largest field in the history of the tournament.
