Ariana Grande has publicly reacted to the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller for the first time.
Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick on January 19, 1992, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died at the age of 26-years-old of an apparent overdose. He was found unresponsive around noon on Friday, September 7, in a bedroom at his San Fernando Valley home and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grande, 25, first recorded the single “The Way” with Miller in 2012. In August 2016, the pair began dating, eventually breaking up in May 2018. Following their relationship, Grande began dating Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson in May 2018. The couple announced that they were engaged in June 2018.

Prior to posting the tribute, the 25-year-old ‘Sweetener’ singer disabled the comments on her Instagram after many people began blaming her for the rapper’s overdose and subsequent death.
Other than this photo, Grande has yet to publicly comment on Miller’s death.
Back in May, after Miller was arrested for DUI and hit and run, Grande tweeted “pls take care of yourself”, seemingly in reference to Miller:

Miller was regularly open about his struggles with substance abuse, referencing drug abuse and death in his music, particularly in the 2014 mixtape “Faces.”
