Ricardo Garcia Lopez, a 39-year-old man from California, shot and killed himself after a horrific crime spree. According to the Napa Valley Register, Lopez shot four of his children in an SUV parked outside his home before turning the gun on himself. Three of the children survived, with the fourth expected to survive.
The children’s mother called police about Lopez firing a gun outside of their home. When the responding officers arrived, they found Lopez dead in his driveway.
A further investigation showed the severity of Lopez’s gruesome rampage, with the three children — ages 9 months, 2, and 4 — found dead in the car. A five-year-old child was shot in the chest and hospitalized in stable condition, according to a statement from Clearlake Police Sgt. Tim Hobbs.
A GoFundMe account has been started to support the family.

The GoFundMe page is to raise funds for the families of the children and Lopez, who the family urges for people to forgive.
We ask compassion, and forgiveness for the soul of Rico (Ricardo Garcia Lopez). Only GOD knows why things had to happen that way. We are all torn apart by the little ones but also by the pain of losing a loved one who could not find the strength to seek help and have to leave so soon and still leave an immense void to his mother, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We ask your kindness to help funeral service for Rico and his three children, because my aunt was widowed with her children all small and with many efforts to try to get them all forward. Thank you and most of all we ask for your prayers for the family.
As of Tuesday morning, there was no motive for the shooting.
Lopez has a history of run-ins with the law. He was arrested on March 10 on a felony charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and was prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm after pleading guilty to battery on a non-cohabitating partner. Two months later, he was arrested on a misdemeanor complaint of spousal battery.
