A man has reportedly been killed and another six people (The Independent and Reuters is reporting at least 14 people) have been injured after a “violent” knife attack on a bus in Lubeck, Germany. The suspect has been arrested.
According to local German media, a “smoldering backpack” was said to have been found at the scene. Police spokesman Duerk Duerbrook said the attack occurred in the Kuecknitz district of Luebeck.
At this time, no suspect has been identified. Police are currently responding to the scene. Also at this time, there is no word on if the attack is linked to terrorism.

A smoldering backpack was said to have been found at the scene, according to local media. The assailant is said to have been armed with a knife. Eyewitnesses say the bus was full at the time, when a passenger suddenly dropped a backpack, LN online report.
The man then reportedly pulled a gun and attacked those on the bus. The bus driver stopped the vehicle immediately and opened the doors for passengers to flee, before he too was reportedly attacked.
Police were at the scene within minutes of the first emergency calls being made.
