Mario Batali, 57, is an American chef, writer, restaurateur, and media personality who is an expert on the history and culture of Italian cuisine.
Batali co-owns restaurants in New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Singapore, Westport, Connecticut and New Haven, Connecticut.Batali’s signature clothing style includes a fleece vest, shorts and orange Crocs.
He is also known as “Molto Mario”.

In December 2017, Batali stepped away from his restaurant empire after four different women accused Batali of inappropriate touching. ABC, where Batali has co-hosted the daytime show The Chew since 2011, asked the chef to step away from the show “while we review the allegations that have just recently come to our attention.”

Without filing charges The New York Police Department has closed its two investigations into sexual misconduct allegations against Mario Batali.
