Good Samaritan Who Broke Up Fight In Viral Video Honors Mother In Tear-Jerking Ceremony

This is one of the few times that I am glad to say I was very, very wrong.
A couple days ago, I took the considerably cynical stance that the viral video of an Atlantic City man breaking up a fight between two local teenagers was fake. It just seemed like something that was created with the specific intention of going viral.
When you see as much as internet as I do and the dark corners of the world it leads to, it can be easy to fall into cynical assumptions. So I chalked it up as staged and moved on.

Luckily, for the sake of my faith in humanity, I was wrong. As it turns out, it was a very real video, and the good samaritan in it was also very real human being.
Ibn Ali Miller, the peace-bringing individual seen in the now ultra viral clip, was honored in Atlantic City for helping to end the violence between the two squabbling teenagers.

“You’re almost men, you’re not kids no more,” Miller says in the video. “Start acting like it, yo. You’re going to get nowhere like this, yo.”

In another awe-inspiring testament to this man’s character, he gave a tear-jerking speech as he humbly passed all praise onto his mother.

So shout out to Ibn Ali Miller for being one of the people that world a better place and shout out to his mother for raising him to be one. Just goes to show you that it’s nurture, not nature.
