Danielle Bregoli, more commonly known as the “Cash me ousside” girl, became (in)famous following one of the most hilarious appearances on Dr. Phil of all time. However, becoming an internet sensation and a viral meme has its downsides.
Bregoli’s Instagram and Twitter were hacked on Tuesday by a group that claimed to take issue with the her disrespectful behavior towards her mother.
“Face Security Group” commandeered her Instagram page, changing her name and profile picture and uploading three videos to her accounts. The group threatens to release unspecified “leaks” on Wednesday evening.
The first video said: “This is the modern-day celebrity. This country glorifies and makes famous a young girl for being disrespectful to her mother. She is no role model. She is no idol. She is no God. Pay close attention to what happens next.”
The second video said: “Citizens of the world. Too long we have stood by idly and observed. It is time we take matters into our own hands. The time for change is now. The leaks begin Wednesday.”
The third video showed a time clock counting down from 19 hours to zero.
Bregoli quickly set up a separate Internet page and brushed off the hacking. “My account got hacked,” she wrote. “I will be taking my account back soon. Follow this one until then.”
