The 81st Annual Cotton Bowl kicks off tonight as the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers (10-3) take on the No. 15 Western Michigan Broncos (13-0). While Wisconsin plays in big bowl games year in and year out, Western Michigan is one of only two undefeated teams remaining in the country. The Cotton Bowl will be the fifth all-time meeting between the Big 10 and MAC schools, with the Badgers winning four of five, including their last game, a 19-7 victory in 2000.
The Badgers, despite playing LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State all within their first six games of the season, were still able to finish at a respectable 10-3. Wisconsin’s three losses came at the hands of three top-10 ranked teams, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. As for Western Michigan, despite not losing a game during the regular season, Wisconsin would face their biggest test yet by far.
Western Michigan is led by wide receiver Corey Davis, who is the all-time leading receiver in the FBS with 5,068 yards. As for Wisconsin, their offense is led by running back Corey Clement, who has had 292 carries for 1,304 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns on the season.
