Brandon Aiyuk once looked like the guy who’d anchor the 49ers’ receiving corps for years to come. That version of him feels like a distant memory now.
Back in 2023, Aiyuk caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, numbers strong enough to land him a four-year, $120 million contract extension. That’s when everything started falling apart between him and the organization, and it happened fast.
A serious knee injury derailed his 2024 season. Then he walked away from the team entirely before the 2025 season even started. Legal trouble followed too, and San Francisco eventually voided the guaranteed money left on his deal, leaving his future completely up in the air.
Just recently, Aiyuk posted on Instagram claiming he’d signed with the Washington Commanders. Washington’s response? Not so fast, they said, denying any such deal exists.
Now he’s back online, this time with a video full of wild claims aimed straight at the 49ers organization.

In the clip, Aiyuk takes aim at his former agent, Ryan Williams, and connects him to the front office in a pretty pointed way.
“He is also the agent for the general manager of that team,” Aiyuk said. “And these (expletive) is all weirdos, creepy predators, I would never ever (expletive) with these (expletive). I don’t care how long I have to wait to get to you, my baby [referring to a football with the Commanders logo in his hand]. But if it involves (expletive) with them (expletive) first, I’m waiting.”
Worth noting: Aiyuk reportedly hasn’t filed for reinstatement with the league. That technically means the 49ers can’t even release him, no matter what he says publicly.
He didn’t stop there either. Aiyuk claimed general manager John Lynch showed up at his house without any warning.
“General manager gonna pull up to my house,” he said. “A weirdo. Like, bro, don’t pull up to my house uninvited boy. (expletive) ain’t safe. But I knew his (expletive) was going to do it. So, I’m looking at my camera, my front door camera. I see a big old white boy, white man, former NFL safety, and I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no.’”
He then described warning his wife to stay away from the house until Lynch left.
“I know my wife is about to be back home soon,” Aiyuk continued. “So, I had to call my wife and say, ‘Uh, it’s a big (expletive) white man at the house. I don’t know what he doing over there. He was not invited.’ (expletive) creepy. ‘So if you on your way home, just probably just spin the block a few times because I don’t know what bro on.’”
Aiyuk says he’s ready to line up against the 49ers on October 19th, when San Francisco faces the Commanders. There’s just one problem: he still hasn’t actually signed with Washington.
And based on how things are going, it doesn’t sound like the Commanders are in any rush to change that.
So for now, all this drama and posturing might end up looking even stranger down the road than it already does today.
