Kiefer Sutherland was arrested Sunday night after allegedly threatening to kill an Uber driver who wouldn’t stop the vehicle when requested. The 24 star was released on $50,000 bail following the January 11 incident.

The confrontation reportedly began when Sutherland, riding in an Uber Black after dinner with a friend, asked the driver multiple times to pull over. When the driver refused, the situation escalated dramatically.

According to the driver – who called 911 – Sutherland not only threatened his life but also physically assaulted him.

“Kiefer told police he was having dinner with a friend Sunday night. Late in the evening, he called for an Uber Black, the driver arrived, Kiefer jumped in and they were on their way to Kiefer’s home. For some reason, during the drive, Kiefer told the driver to pull over and let him out,” TMZ reported.

The driver claims Sutherland made death threats when his requests to stop were ignored.

This isn’t Sutherland’s first brush with the law.

The actor – whose extensive filmography includes “A Few Good Men,” “Stand By Me,” “The Lost Boys,” “Flatliners,” and “Phone Booth” – previously served jail time in 2007 after pleading no contest to DUI charges.

He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday, February 2, facing charges of making a criminal threat.

Sutherland recently appeared in Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2,” which hit theaters in late 2024. Before that, he starred in “Stone Cold Fox” and “Tinsel Town” last year – continuing a career that’s spanned decades in both television and film.

Neither the actor nor his representatives have issued any statement regarding the arrest as of this writing.
