Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham has set her sights on the Victoria’s Secret runway after watching WNBA star Angel Reese make history as the first active athlete to walk in the prestigious fashion show. The 29-year-old veteran didn’t hesitate to make her intentions clear.
“Oh my God, I texted my agents right away and said please, pleaaase — this has been a dream of mine since second grade. I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel,” Cunningham told TMZ Sports with characteristic candor. She added with a laugh, “I don’t really have the boobs.”
Cunningham’s popularity has surged dramatically since joining the Fever, where she’s become known for her fierce on-court defense of rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.
Her outspoken criticism of WNBA officiating hit her wallet more than once this season.
The Missouri native faced multiple fines throughout the year for her pointed comments about referees — something that’s only enhanced her reputation as one of the league’s most authentic personalities.
Reese wasn’t the only athlete to grace the Victoria’s Secret catwalk this month. Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee also participated in the 2025 show, which marked the brand’s continued evolution toward featuring women with diverse body types and professional backgrounds.
Cunningham’s 2025 campaign was cut short by an MCL tear, limiting her to 30 appearances. She still managed to contribute 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while starting 13 contests for Indiana. Her one-year, $100,000 contract with the Fever is now expiring, making her an unrestricted free agent heading into next season.
Whether she’ll be strutting down the runway or driving to the basket next year remains to be seen — but Cunningham’s star continues to rise both on and off the court.
