We are past the midpoint of the 2020 NFL season so now is a good time to reflect on what we have seen so far, and a make a judgement on who are in the race for the regular season MVP.
As like most seasons, it is a trio of quarterbacks who currently lead the way in the hunt for the most prestigious individual award in the sport.
Russell Wilson
Remarkably, Russell Wilson has never won the regular season MVP. The Seattle Seahawks QB has been one of the best in his position for almost a decade now. There is no doubt that he will be a future Hall of Famer.

This year could be the season he finally lands the award. At times in 2020, Wilson has been unstoppable. He has been putting up monstrous numbers for passing yards and touchdowns and if he keeps up those sorts of stats, he is going to make it a one-horse race for the MVP.
As you can see at the NFL standings at https://www.nfl.com/standings/, Seattle are 7-3 through their opening 10 games. They are in the toughest division in football, the NFC West. If they can top the standings after week 17, they will be in with a great chance of going all the way this year.
Patrick Mahomes
The 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL today. Many people consider him the best player in the sport. A second MVP crown would help back up those claims.
We are so used to seeing Mahomes produce incredible plays on the field that nothing surprises us anymore with the Kansas City Chiefs QB. This is just his third full season in the league but he looks like he has been around much longer.

In his opening nine games this season, Mahomes has thrown 25 touchdowns and has had just the one interception. He has had the help of a very talented running back in Clyde Edwards-Helaire, which has taken the pressure off the 25-year-old. However, when called upon, Mahomes has been exceptional.
The Chiefs are the strong favorites in the Super Bowl betting now to defend their crown. Although their odds are much shorter than at the start of the campaign, some bookmakers offer profit boosts as pointed out at https://www.bonusfinder.com/sports-betting/. These can be up to a 100% boost, which will make a huge difference on the reigning champions who still look the team to beat this season.
Aaron Rodgers
At 84.6 after nine games, no player has a higher quarterback rating than Aaron Rodgers this season. The quarterback stats at https://www.espn.com/nfl/ indicate he does not quite have as many passing yards as some QBs but he is far more consistent on the field.
Green Bay are on course for a big campaign, with the number one seed in the NFC their goal. A lot of their success will depend on whether the two-time MVP can stay fit and healthy. If he does, they are a match for anyone in the league.
Rodgers makes very few mistakes on the field. He has protected the ball really well this season and those voting for the award will recognize that when they make their decision.
There is obviously a lot more football to be played this season, but it is the above three quarterbacks who look to be ahead of the pack. Whoever does come out on top will have had a special year to beat their rivals.
