LOOK: Cal Football’s Under Armour Heritage Uniform Photos

The Cal football program will be the latest college football team to wear special throwback uniforms as part of Under Armour’s 150th-anniversary celebration. The Golden Bears will wear their Heritage uniforms this weekend when they play host to the USC Trojans.

Every year, the Golden Bears play a memorial match-up in honor of Joe Roth, a former Cal quarterback who passed away in 1977 at the age of 21, and the special uniforms will be worn when they take the field.

The uniforms bring a new twist, with a sharp gold helmet and retro “C” logo.

“The bright yellow and blue uniform is a nod to the 1970s-era style that Joe himself sported when he took the field as a Golden Bear,” the Under Armour statement read. “The retro helmet decals and logo that sits at the upper left of the pants, coupled with the colors and vintage sleeve stripes, gives the team a nostalgic look that memorializes a Golden Bear great.”

Kickoff between the Golden Bears and Trojans at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, November 16 is set for 11:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, so the Twittersphere better get prepared for some Pac-12 After Dark. Get your popcorn ready.
