The St. Louis Cardinals rallied to beat the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series on Thursday night, and now the Braves will be looking to draw even in front of their home fans at SunTrust Park in Game 2 on Friday, October 4.
Atlanta will be relying on the arm of Mike Foltynewicz, while St. Louis will send right-hander Jack Flaherty to the mound.
Flaherty has been on a hot streak over the past two months — earning NL Pitcher of the Month in August and September — and he knows the Cardinals have what it takes to steal another game on the road despite Atlanta’s star-studded batting lineup.
“They’ve got professional hitters up and down,” Flaherty said, via ESPN.com. “They can run a little bit, so they just put good at-bats together no matter what, don’t give any at-bats away. As long as we go out and execute our game, execute what we need to do, we’ll be in a good position.”
