Taylor Swift entered the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards with a leading 10 nominations. When the night was all said and done, Swift — along with Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish — led the way with three wins each. One of Moonman Trophies Swift received was presented by John Travolta.
Travolta took the stage with Queen Latifa to present the award for Video of the Year.
Swift took home the award for her song “You Need to Calm Down,” and took the stage with her dancers and team for the video. One of those people in the entourage happened to be Jade Jolie, a drag queen who has previously competed on season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
When it came time to hand over the Moonman, Travolta had a minor brain malfunction and mistook Jade Jolie as Taylor Swift and attempted to give the drag queen the trophy.
It gave us this hilarious moment.
Way to go, John.
