Kyler Murray Praised by Future Hall of Famer Early in Arizona Cardinals Training Camp

Kyler Murray, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is earning high praise early in his first NFL training camp. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback took the field with his new NFL team and immediately caught the eye of future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald.

According to the wide receiver, Murray has fit right in with his new team and is a perfect fit in new head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offensive system.

Fitzgerald was speaking with reporters when he raved about his new signal-caller and discussed the “crazy” command the first-year player has right out of the gate in his first professional training camp.

“I’ve never seen a quarterback come in so quickly and be able to command an offense,” Fitzgerald said, via “I mean, from Day 1, he’s out there checking the different plays, sliding the line, different protections, getting us in screens when blitzes are coming. His understanding of the offense is crazy.

“I think that’s going to give us a great advantage, to play fast from the first preseason game all the way to the start of the regular season and giving him the keys to the car and letting him is going to be great for us.”

Throughout his career, Fitzgerald has dealt with shotty play under center but has still been able to put together a Hall of Fame career.

The fact that an established player has come out to discuss his young signal-caller and show faith in his abilities is a promising sign for the Cardinals franchise and their loyal fanbase. Of course, we have yet to see Murray on the field at the professional level, but this is exactly the kind of talk that you want coming from your team’s veteran players.

The Cardinals open up their preseason campaign on Thursday, August 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. It will be the first look at Murray in game action, before the Cardinals open the regular season on September 8 against the Detroit Lions.
