“Old Town Road” is the gift that keeps on giving. As the song continues to dominate the Billboard charts, Lil Nas X called on two new artists to join his latest remix. In the track released on Friday, July 12, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus were joined by Young Thug and Mason Ramsey. If you don’t remember, Mason Ramsey is a former viral star in himself after video of him yodeling in a local Walmart made the rounds on the internet.
Lil Nas X has been teasing the latest remix since April.
“The song is country trap. It’s not one, it’s not the other. It’s both. It should be on both [charts],” Lil Nas X said, via XXL Magazine. “I believe whenever you’re trying something new, it’s always going to get some kind of bad reception. For example, when rap started, or when rock and roll began. But with country trap, I in no way want to take credit for that. I believe Young Thug would be one of the biggest pioneers in that.”
