Pro Golfer Clement Berardo Disqualified for Running Out of Balls

Clement Berardo is officially my favorite new golfer. was playing in a Challenge Tour event in Spain on Thursday, June 20 when the Frenchman gave all of us ordinary people hope that maybe one day we could play of a professional tour.
As it turns out, Berardo was having a disastrous day that included multiple bogeys and double bogeys, before he was disqualified from the event because he ran out of balls on the 15th hole.
That’s right. Berardo was doing so poorly that he ran out of ammunition for the course.
Is it okay to laugh?

The Golf Channel had the details from his round of golf that nightmares are made of.

It’d been a rough round for the 32-year-old Frenchman, who was 10 over par at the time of his disqualification. He began the day with a quadruple-bogey 9 on the first hole, then bogeyed the sixth and eight holes to make the turn in 6-over 41. It got worse from there, after he double-bogeyed the 10thhole and dropped shots on the 14th and 15th. On the par-5 16th, Berardo apparently lost the final ball in his bag and embarrassingly had to head back to the clubhouse.
Ranked 1,909th in the world, Berardo had missed his last four cuts on the European Tour’s developmental circuit.

That is going to be tough to recover from.
While the 32-year-old is currently competing on the Challenge Tour, he had previously competed on the European Tour after earning his tour card by finishing 22nd at qualifying school in 2016. His most impressive finish was a third-place finish at the 2016 Trophee Hassan II.
Unfortunately, that success is in the rear-view mirror and now he is going to be remembered as the guy who didn’t have enough balls to finish a round of golf. But hey, it could happen to any of us.
