Parents can get really involved in their kids’ hobbies. Whether it is becoming a stage mom or an overzealous AAU dad, there are always parents who are a little too excited about what their kids are doing. Maybe it is the parents having one last opportunity to live out their dreams vicariously through their children or maybe it’s some issue rooted much deeper. But whatever the case, sometimes they just cannot control themselves.
That was on full display over the weekend when a group of adults got into a full-on brawl in the middle of a 7-year-olds’ baseball game.
Four citations were issued by the Lakewood Police Department in Colorado following the incident, which was reportedly sparked when one of the parents got angry at a 13-year-old umpire for calls that were being made.
Yes, you read that correctly. An adult got made at a teenager over calls in a baseball game for 7-year-olds and that sparked a brawl.
To make matters worse, as the adults began swinging for the fences, there were still children on the field who had to run away from the action in order to avoid being trampled.
“I think the saddest part in all of this is we’re talking about a 7-year-old baseball game,” police spokesman John Romero told KDVR about the incident. “I think it’s the parents who have to grow up.”

Police are still asking for help to identify the man in teal shorts, who can be seen sucker-punching multiple people during the incident.
“These adults took over the field and began assaulting each other on 6/15 during a youth baseball game. We’re looking for any info, in particular to ID the man in the white shirt/teal shorts. Several people have already been cited in this fight and injuries were reported,” the police wrote on Twitter.

Let’s let the kids be kids, folks. It’s not that serious.
