'Survivor' Star Joe Chopped Off Trademark Locks After Sia Gives $15,000 to Charity

Joe Anglim is one of the best competitors that the long-running CBS reality television series Survivor has ever seen. Joe scored 8 challenge wins in Worlds Apart, 15 in Cambodia, and 8 more during his latest stint on Edge of Extinction.
The challenge beast is known for his trademark hair, but that all changed following the Survivor: Edge of Extinction season finale — where Joe served as a jury member and cast his vote for $1 million winner Chris Underwood.
After the finale aired, pop star Sia, who is a huge Survivor fan, offered Joe $15,000 if he would chop off his locks for charity.
“Hey [Joe Anglim], if you cut your hair off and donate it to a children’s cancer wig-making charity I’ll give you 15k.” Sia wrote on her official Twitter account.
Joe accepted the offer but said that the $15,000 could also go to the charity.
In typical Survivor fashion, photos from the makeover immediately made their way to social media.

Sia paid another $100,000 during the finale, awarding Rick Devens a check for being her favorite player throughout the season.
Kudos to everyone involved.

Edge of Extinction featured a new twist, where eliminated contestants could choose to leave the game permanently or head to a remote beach where they were forced to start over with no fire and no shelter. Contestants who were on the “Edge of Extinction” could quit the game at any time by raising a white flag on the beach. It was designed to “try to get a little deeper psychologically, a little deeper spiritually”, asking contestants, “is there a possibility of the spiritual death and rebirth that you seek in life, where you realize something deeper about yourself?”
