Triple Crown season is officially underway with the 2019 Kentucky Derby set to take place on Saturday, May 4. “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” traditionally takes place on the first Saturday in May every year. This year marks the 145th annual “Run for the Roses” at Churchill Downs.
This year’s race has featured its fair share of race week drama. Omaha Beach entered the week as the early favorite with 4-1 odds, before being scratched on May 1 due to entrapped epiglottis, which impairs breathing.
Without Omaha Beach in the field, Game Winner (5-1), Roadster (6-1), and Improbably (6-1) are the leading horses. Each of the horses are trained by Bob Baffert, who has five Kentucky Derby wins including Triple Crown winners American Pharoah and Justify.

There are a few different options provided for live streaming the Kentucky Derby. The best option is to watch via NBC Live app or at NBCSports.com/LiveExtra. The NBC Live app is available on iTunes App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, Roku Channel Store, Apple TV and Amazon Fire. You will need your service provider login and password for access.

Another popular option is DirecTV Now. This option will require you to sign up for a 7-day free trial.
